Our policies will help you to know what to expect from our family friendly B&B before you book. We take your privacy very seriously.
House Policies
Check in is at 3:00 and Check out is 11:00 am. No alterations can be accommodated.
Guests are asked not to linger on the property so our staff can prepare our facilities for incoming guests. Any guest who is still on the property will be assessed a 25% of the next nights rate for every hour past check out. Time is rounded up to the next hour. The Innkeeper reserves the right to remove anyone from the property at any time and for any reason.
Early check in are not able to be accommodated. Any guest who arrives prior to 3:00pm will be asked to leave the property.
Owner’s Rights
The Engel House is privately owned and operated. Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. We will not be responsible for guest accidents or injury, or for the loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind. Anyone, including paying guests, can be removed from the property for any reason with no chance for refund.
Property Issues
Any damages, stolen items, or broken items occurring during the stay will be the full financial responsibility of the guest, including anyone traveling with the guest and will be charged to the original payment method. Please report all spills and/or damages to the Innkeeper promptly and charges MAY be waived.
Alcoholic Beverages
The Engel House does not hold a license to resell alcoholic beverages. Guests may bring their own, but please drink responsibly. Hard liquor is not permitted. The Engel House and/or employees will not be held responsible for any incidents.
Smoking & Candle Burning
We do not allow smoking, fireworks or incense/candle burning in any of our guest rooms or on any of the grounds of The Engel House. Guests smoking in the house or on the grounds will be charged a minimum $200 fee or higher to return to nonsmoking state.
Guests, Children, and Pets at the Inn
Guest visitors are only permitted on the property with prior Inn Keeper approval. If you would like to have any non-registered guests join you for breakfast there is an additional charge of $30 per person, and advance notice to the innkeeper is required. All guest must be mindful and respectful of others. Well behaved children of all ages are allowed. Non-paying guests are not permitted in the Inn without prior approval from the Innkeeper. We regret that we are not able to accommodate guests’ pets. The Innkeepers’ pet is confined to the owners’ quarters and the back yard.
Wedding Night Stays & Other Visitors
If you are booking a stay for a special event, please be advised that our guest rooms, common areas and grounds are for our registered guests only. Booking a reservation for a stay does not entitle any booking guest, family or friends to use any guest room or any part of the Inn or grounds for their event preparations and photographs without the Innkeeper’s approval and will incur the appropriate fees.
Photography & Outside Guests
We do not allow outside photographers or for group photographs without prior permission of the Innkeeper, and only if no other guests are staying at the Inn. A $100/hour fee for use of the grounds will be charged and payable at the end of the session. To ensure privacy, photographs of our guests are not permitted without their prior written permission. Persons found to be on property taking personal photographs without permission or enjoying our facilities without being a guest, will be considered trespassers and subject to the penalties of that violation.
Cancellation Policy
Single Room Booking
Making a reservation at a bed and breakfast is not the same as making a hotel reservation. Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last-minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a room. For this reason, we uphold a strict cancellation policy:
14 days prior to check in, the guest’s card on file will be charged the remaining balance of their bill unless other arrangements are made prior to this time. No-shows are responsible for full payment of their entire reservation. No refund will be issued for cancelations within 14 days of check in. Should you cancel outside of 14 days prior to arrival, your stay will be cancelled with no charge unless otherwise noted. There are no exceptions to this policy including sickness, family emergencies, or weather-related issues.
Group Booking of Two or More Rooms or
Groups with Whole House Rentals require a payment in full at the time of the reservation. 3 months’ notice is required for cancellation for a full refund (less administrative fees per room). Cancellations before 30 days will forfeit 50% of their stay. Cancellations less than 30 days’ notice will be charged the entire cost of the reserved stay.
Individual guests within a group/whole house booking are subject to the terms defined for a whole house rental. If the number of rooms drops below 2 from a rental that originates as a whole house rental, the group’s reservation is still subject to the terms of a whole house booking. 30 DAYS NOTICE (or more) of cancellation is required for refund of stay for these Circumstances (subject to Cancellation/Rebooking Fees).

Information Collection
Our main purpose in collecting your personal information is to provide you with a streamlined experience in making reservations at The Engel House. We only collect information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this. Personally identifiable information is only obtained when making a reservation and at registration. All identifiable information provided will not be disclosed to anyone unless we are specifically requested to do so by the guest. The Engel House does not give or sell to anyone any information we collect on our site.
We sometimes use data collection devices such as “cookies” on certain pages of the Site to measure effectiveness and safety. A “cookie” is a small file that gets placed on your hard drive that helps us provide our services. You are free to decline cookies if you choose to.
Security
At The Engel House, we take security seriously. When users make a reservation we use every precaution to safe guard it online and offline.
Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
Policy Modifications
The Engel House may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time in order to meet changes in the regulatory environment, business needs, or to satisfy the needs of our guests, properties, strategic marketing partners, and service providers.
Messaging Terms & Conditions
General
When you opt-in to the service, we will send you a message to confirm your signup.
By opting into messages, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing and informational text messages from The Engel House for The Engel House. Automated messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system to the mobile telephone number you provided when signing up or any other number that you designate.
Message frequency varies, and additional mobile messages may be sent periodically based on your interaction with The Engel House. The Engel House reserves the right to alter the frequency of messages sent at any time to increase or decrease the total number of sent messages. The Engel House also reserves the right to change the short code or phone number where messages are sent.
Message and data rates may apply. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider. Your wireless provider is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of purchase.

Cancellation
You can cancel any time by texting “STOP”. After you send the SMS message “STOP”, we will send you a message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed and no more messages will be sent. If you would like to receive messages from The Engel House again, just sign up as you did the first time and The Engel House will start sending messages to you again.

Transfer of Number
